Janelle Saffin MP column for The Lismore Echo Thursday, June 13, 2019

State Member for Lismore Janelle Saffin has welcomed Tenterfield Shire Council’s $600,000 commitment to start making the Bruxner Way to Bonshaw safer, particularly for children travelling on the school bus route.

Last Friday, I attended a Citizenship Ceremony hosted by the Tweed Shire Council.

Earlier today, I had an interview with Prime7 about Wicked campervans. I support members of the NSW Country Women’s Association for their leadership on this issue. I congratulate CWA Bangalow branch President for putting up a motion to get offensive Wicked camper slogans off our road.

Earlier today, I was sworn in as the new Member for Lismore. I am truly humbled and honoured to represent the people of Tenterfield, Kyogle, Lismore and Murwillumbah. As your Member, I shall represent all.

I mourn the passing of my friend, the irascible, intelligent, brilliant Bob Hawke. How lucky were we Australians to have had him lead our nation.
