NSW Parliamentary Labor Bulletin on COVID-19

Today’s priorities

  • The Government’s economic stimulus package is missing the mark and a second targeted package for families is needed
  • We need to be testing more, the rate of cases with unknown transmission is growing at an alarming rate
  • NSW is the epicentre of this virus in Australia and we need to lead the national effort

Opposition concerns

  • We are not testing enough: the World Health Organisation has said ‘test, test, test’
  • This is a global pandemic – we can’t stop the virus but with the right measures we can slow it down
  • The Government has cut our hospital system to the bone and we’re not prepared enough for this pandemic
  • The Government needs to outline the State’s coronavirus plan including when schools will be closed
  • Non-frontline public servants need to be directed to work from home
