A draft masterplan has been released for the Crawford Road project in East Lismore, proposing 500 new flood-free homes on a 72-hectare site.

THE NSW Government has acquired 18.5 hectares of high-ground land in North Lismore under the Resilient Lands Program, potentially yielding 85 housing lots.

The NSW Reconstruction Authority has purchased 72 hectares of East Lismore land from Southern Cross University, paving the way for eventual development of more than 400 flood-free homes, and NSW Minister for Recovery Janelle Saffin couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

Four buyback homes from the floodplain are being
relocated to Goonellabah’s Mount Pleasant Estate, a move welcomed by NSW Parliamentary Secretary for Disaster Recovery Janelle Saffin.
