Janelle Saffin MP’s repeated calls for Resilience NSW teams to go door-to-door to support flood-affected residents in South, North and Central Lismore have been heeded by the NSW Government.

Janelle Saffin is lobbying the NSW Premier for a regional flood mitigation funding package on behalf of four councils in the Lismore Electorate.
“If it’s good enough for Northern Australia (a Commonwealth-backed Flood Reinsurance Scheme), it’s good enough for the Northern Rivers.’
“I was very pleased to see that the Anglican Parish of Lismore had received $10,000 for two projects in a previous funding round. Kyogle Council received $3000 to assess the condition of the Mallanganee Memorial Gates.

“The Premier and Deputy Premier have announced what I have been calling for – a single, coordinated whole of government approach to the permanent recovery and rebuilding of our flood affected communities.
“Lismore City Council has a good case for this extra funding, outside the regular grants to councils, and I understand that Minister Farraway is responding positively to my advocacy.”
