Stronger Country Communities Fund – Round 5 now open

Janelle Saffin MP says locals have until September 23 2022 to apply for their share of the NSW Government's $160-million Stronger Country Communities Fund Round 5.

STATE Member for Lismore Janelle Saffin says locals have until September 23 this year to apply for their share of the NSW Government’s $160-million Stronger Country Communities Fund Round 5.

Ms Saffin says this round aims to improve the wellbeing of local communities in the Northern Rivers and Northern Tablelands regions by providing new or upgraded social and sporting infrastructure, or community programs that have strong local support.

“A total of $160 million is available, including up to $50 million for projects delivered by eligible community organisations, and of course, I’m happy to be briefed on them and to provide letters of support if needed,” Ms Saffin says.

“Funding is available for local community and sporting infrastructure, street beautification, projects enhancing accessibility and inclusion for people with disability, projects improving outcomes for Aboriginal people, and community programs and local events.

“Eligible applicants can apply for grants of more than $100,000. Local councils, Section 355 Committees of those councils, Regional Joint Organisations of Councils, community organisations registered as incorporated associations, and Local Aboriginal Land Councils can apply.”

Ms Saffin says the Department of Regional NSW can offer support and assistance for Stronger Country Communities Round 5 applicants.
