MEMBER for Lismore Janelle Saffin is encouraging local renters to have their say about the Government’s reforms to make renting fairer.
Janelle Saffin MP has secured a NSW Labor election commitment to invest $30 million in a Build-to-Rent pilot program for the Northern Rivers. Lismore, Murwillumbah, Tweed Heads and Ballina will be among the first centres to benefit.
Janelle Saffin MP next week will press NSW Minister for Planning and Homes Anthony Roberts on the NSW Government’s hard targets and timelines for building social and affordable housing in the Northern Rivers region.
Janelle Saffin MP again has written to NSW Treasurer Matt Kean asking him to allocate $7.5 million from the NSW Budget to enable 66 new townhouses to be built on flood-free land in Lismore. She says it’s time for the Government to act decisively on the Northern Rivers’ housing crisis, compounded by floods.
