WORK has started on the new $2.85-million George Street pump station aimed at improving Murwillumbah’s flood defence system, NSW Recovery Minister Janelle Saffin has announced.
NSW Minister for Recovery and the North Coast Janelle Saffin and NSW Emergency Services Minister Jihad Dib have announced that Murwillumbah and Ballina will get upgraded NSW SES Unit buildings in partnership with Tweed and Ballina Shire councils. New rescue vehicles will be a bonus for both localities.
