
Tweed roads reopen after disaster repairs

NSW Parliamentary Secretary for Disaster Recovery Janelle Saffin has welcomed the Australian Government’s $90-million contribution to the second tranche of the Resilient Homes Program. This funding matches New South Wales’ contribution of $90 million and will enable more buybacks of flood-impacted homes in the Northern Rivers region.
Janelle Saffin MP and Justine Elliot MP jointly announced that construction is underway on a new pump station in Murwillumbah which will improve community resilience in times of flood and storm events.
Lismore MP and Parliamentary Secretary for Disaster Recovery Janelle Saffin has welcomed a major rehabilitation project on the Tweed River near Uki as a great example of post-flood recovery works.
Janelle Saffin MP has reaffirmed her ‘rock solid’ opposition to the NSW Government’s ill-advised proposal to close four Murwillumbah public schools and replace them with a mega campus. Tweed Shire Council is also opposed.
