THE Minns Labor Government is providing $4million in youth grants for programs that provide opportunities for young people to connect, make friends and learn skills.
The $4 million youth grants package brings together funding through Connect IRL Phase 2, Youth Week 2027 and Holiday Break Autumn and Winter 2027.
Member for Lismore Janelle Saffin is urging local councils, not-for-profits and community organisations to take up the opportunity, and apply for funding to support projects for young people in our region.
“The Office for Youth has found that young people consistently ask for more government support to build third spaces where they can find a sense of community and belonging offline.
“We know that youth programs are most effective when they are designed around what young people say they need and value.
“And the message from young people is they want more places and more opportunities to meet and hang out in real life.
“The grants will support projects that help young people aged 8 to 24 make friends, develop confidence, build social connections and create pathways into education and employment, regardless of where they live,” Ms Saffin said.
“I know youth programs across our region could always use a funding boost, and I encourage local organisations to get their applications in.”
