Member for Lismore Janelle Saffin has welcomed the announcement of more than $1.5 million for three projects in Tenterfield Shire under the Minns Labor Government’s Active Regional Communities Package.
“The Government’s Active Regional Communities grants are about backing local organisations, helping more people participate locally, and giving communities assets and activities they can build on.”
Minister for Regional NSW Tara Moriarty has announced the grants for 17 projects in the Northern Tablelands and New England region including:
Angry Bull Trails Limited: $1,502,087 for a covered stage and event pavilion in Tenterfield, which will be used to support live music, festivals, markets, youth and cycling events.
Tenterfield District Cricket Association Incorporated: $100,000 for Cricket Ground Capacity and Surface Improvement
Bolivia Progress Association: $96,910 for Bolivia Hall Amenities Upgrade.
Minister Moriarty said supporting these projects is part of the Minns Government’s plan to invest in local projects that make a practical, positive difference and give communities assets and activities they can build on.
Ms Saffin thanked the Minister for her support of these projects that will help the Tenterfield Shire thrive.
“I have been a longtime supporter of Angry Bull Trails and its aim to create the best adventure tourism destination in Australia. It has the potential to revive the economic landscape of the region.
“And our local cricket clubs and community halls play an important role in keeping people connected and involved in local activities,” Ms Saffin said.
“I congratulate the three organisations for their successful applications and thank them for putting forward their ideas for better infrastructure to benefit the whole community.”
