Work continues on new Richmond River High Campus

LISMORE MP and NSW Recovery Minister Janelle Saffin has provided an update on establishment works at the new Richmond River High Campus on higher ground in North Lismore.

WORK continues to establish the Rivers Secondary College Richmond River High Campus at its new North Lismore site, and despite ongoing heavy rain, remains on track for completion in 2027, according to Lismore MP Janelle Saffin.

Ms Saffin welcomed a June 2026 update that early works include building the retaining wall at the back of the school and excavating the building pads for the new school buildings.

An access road to the lower part of the school site has also been installed.

Ms Saffin said she had been advised that School Infrastructure are working with the school to complete detailed designs for the campus, ready for manufacturing of the new school buildings to begin off site in August.

The original Richmond River High was extensively damaged by floods in 2022.

The new, more flood resilient campus will include modern classrooms, specialist and support classrooms, library, multi-purpose hall, VET construction and hospitality facilities, agriculture facilities, sports fields and performance spaces.

This project is funded by the Infrastructure Betterment Fund, which is jointly funded by the NSW and Australian governments through the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
