WORK on rebuilding the Lismore South Public School and Ngulliboo Jarjums Preschool from the 2022 floods is well advanced, State Member for Lismore Janelle Saffin has confirmed.
Ms Saffin welcomed a June 2026 project update showing that all new school building modules, including the preschool spaces and hall, have now been installed.
“The concrete school verandas that provide access to the first floor are being poured, and fitting out has started inside the upstairs school spaces,” Ms Saffin said.
“Now that all the buildings have been lifted into place, landscaping and external works can be undertaken, as well as connecting the school’s internet, phones and services.
“School Infrastructure expects to complete the rebuild in late 2026, weather and site conditions permitting.”
The new flood resilient facilities include 13 modern classrooms, library, multi-purpose hall, administration areas, landscaping and separate preschool spaces.
This project is funded by the Infrastructure Betterment Fund, which is jointly funded by the NSW and Australian governments through the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
