LISMORE MP Janelle Saffin has welcomed the Minns Labor Government’s investment in safer, more accessible and better-equipped bus stops at Corndale and Blakebrook, helping improve public transport infrastructure for local communities.
Ms Saffin said the funding has been awarded through the latest round of the Country Passenger Transport Infrastructure Grants Scheme (CPTIGS), which supports councils to deliver upgrades to local bus stop infrastructure.
Lismore City Council will receive a total of $40,000 in State funding towards bus shelter upgrades at 647 Corndale Road, Corndale, and at 417 Rosehill Road, Blakebrook, Ms Saffin confirmed.
“Public transport is a lifeline for many people living in the country, and these upgrades will help make catching the bus into Lismore safer, easier and more comfortable.”
The 2025-26 round of the program will fund 219 projects across 31 regional Local Government Areas, including the installation of new shelters and upgrades to existing bus stops.
