IMPROVEMENTS to the Bruxner Highway keep coming with the completion of a $8.22-million safety project west of Casino that has upgraded a 2.6-kilometre stretch of road between Tara and Captains Creek.
This project was partly funded by the NSW Government’s Towards Zero Safer Roads Program, a road safety infrastructure and speed management treatment program that aims to deliver sustainable and long-term reductions in road trauma through upgrades of the existing road network.
Work started in January and involved the improvement and rehabilitation of this section of highway, including pavement sealing and widening, shoulder sealing, installing safety barriers and improving drainage to increase safety in wet weather.
