Many locals contacted and asked me about the preparedness of our hospitals in the Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD) when it comes to the threat of COVID-19 in our region.

Mr Wayne Jones, the Chief Executive of the NNSWLHD, provided me with the following advice:

1️⃣ NNSWLHD has worked with our clinicians to reinforce the relevant procedures and policies for the management of patients who may present as potentially being positive to COVID-19.
2️⃣ NSW Health has taken a lead role in ensuring the right information is available for the community, clinicians and staff on COVID-19.
3️⃣ NNSWLHD have also developed, in consultation with our Clinicians, pathways for managing any patients who test positive for COVID-19 should they require hospital care.
4️⃣ NNSWLHD is prepared to positively respond to any potential scenario associated with COVID-19.
