Member for Lismore Janelle Saffin is calling on residents of the Lismore electorate to get their nominations in for the 2027 NSW Women of the Year Awards.
“These awards are about honouring the women and girls who make a difference in their community through their courage and leadership and who inspire others,” Ms Saffin said.
“I hope there are lots of nominations from across the Lismore electorate because we have many inspiring women and girls deserving of recognition.”
There are six categories for nominations:
- NSW Premier’s Woman of Excellence
- NSW Aboriginal Woman of the Year
- NSW Community Hero
- NSW Regional Woman of the Year
- NSW Young Woman of the Year
- Ones to Watch.
The Ones to Watch category is where parents, carers and school teachers can nominate girls and young women aged 7 to 15 years who show courage, strength, determination or kindness in supporting others.
The award winners will be announced in March next year, during NSW Women’s Week.
