NORCO PRIMEX FIELD DAYS is proudly relocating to the Lismore Showgrounds in 2026, backing Lismore’s remarkable recovery and positioning the region at the forefront of Australia’s agricultural future.
The event will run from Thursday 21 to Saturday 23 May 2026, marking a new chapter of regional prosperity and innovation.
Lismore has demonstrated unwavering commitment to Primex’s future with proactive support and substantial infrastructure investment.
“This isn’t just about changing locations, this is about backing a community that’s backing us,” said Bruce Wright, Director of NORCO PRIMEX FIELD DAYS. “Lismore’s post-disaster recovery story aligns perfectly with Primex’s evolution. We’re not leaving our community behind; we’re leading it forward to where we can deliver the best outcomes for our farming and rural communities.”
A Proven Economic Powerhouse Supporting Recovery
For 41 years, Primex has generated over $1 billion in exhibitor sales and delivered nearly $100 million in direct regional economic impact. As Australia’s largest coastal-based field day and the only agribusiness event of its kind in Northern NSW, Primex will inject over $4.5 million directly into the Lismore LGA and surrounds.
“We’ve long believed Primex belongs in Lismore,” said John Gibson, President of the North Coast National – Lismore Showgrounds. “This partnership will deliver enormous economic and cultural benefits during a crucial time in our city’s recovery and growth.”
Strong Leadership, Sustainable Future
The relocation has garnered overwhelming support from exhibitors and key stakeholders, backed by strong regional leadership including:
•
Mayor Steve Krieg and Lismore City Council
•
Member for Lismore & Minister for the North Coast, Janelle Saffin
•
Member for Page & Shadow Minister for Trade, Investment & Tourism, Kevin Hogan
•
The Lismore Show Society President, John Gibson
Strategic Advantages for Growth
Lismore offers the appropriate logistics, accommodation, and transport options for the 80%+ of attendees who travel over 50km to reach Primex. The Lismore Showgrounds is undergoing a $4.7 million investment, providing the infrastructure foundation for Primex’s next decade of growth.
With targets of 400+ exhibitors, 1,400 suppliers, and 30,000 attendees, Lismore is perfectly positioned to serve the evolving needs of rural and coastal farming regions while drawing national and international participants.
Honouring the Past, Embracing the Future
Primex acknowledges its 41-year legacy in Casino and extends gratitude to local volunteers, families, supporters, regional exhibitors, businesses, community groups, and charities who contributed to its success. This foundation will be preserved while launching an exciting new phase focussed on:
•
Enhanced B2B and trade engagement across the agricultural supply chain
•
Expanded focus on paddock-to-plate initiatives and sustainable farming
•
Integration of AI and innovation in agriculture
•
Inclusive accessibility for all attendees
“Primex remains deeply grounded in its community values while preparing for future scale and relevance,” Wright added. “We’re backing Lismore because Lismore is backing the future of regional agriculture.”
Lismore now becomes the only regional city in Northern NSW to host both a nationally recognised agricultural field day and a traditional agricultural show, combining business excellence with community celebration.
Lismore MP and Minister for the North Coast Janelle Saffin welcomed the news that from 2026 the PRIMEX Field Days will be held at the Lismore Show Ground.
“What a significant coup to secure this premier event for Lismore and for it to be based at our much-loved Lismore Showgrounds” Ms Saffin said.
PRIMEX Operator Bruce Wright’s agri-business major national event is a real economic boost for Lismore.
“Bruce recognises the Lismore community’s steely resolve to succeed against the odds, rebuilding bigger and better than ever and this attracted him to bring PRIMEX here” Ms Saffin added.
PRIMEX is backing Lismore and Lismore is backing PRIMEX” Ms Saffin said.
