Saffin secures $15,000 to continue Tenterfield’s Autumn Festival

LISMORE MP Janelle Saffin has secured $15,000 to ensure continuation of Tenterfield's popular Autumn Festival, now in its fifth year.

STATE Member for Lismore Janelle Saffin has secured $15,000 in NSW Government funding towards staging Tenterfield’s fifth annual Autumn Festival on the Easter long weekend.

Ms Saffin thanked NSW Premier Chris Minns for providing much-needed support for one of Tenterfield’s signature events, a popular community festival celebrating the shire’s brilliant autumn colours.

“Autumn Festival Committee President Kim Rhodes and Treasurer Bronwyn Petrie contacted me earlier this year to let me know they were struggling to attract sponsorship due to cost-of-living pressures,” Ms Saffin said.

“I know how much the Autumn Festival means to the local community and visitor economy because of its track record for attracting thousands of people to its full program of events with something for everyone.

“The festival is important to local small businesses, particularly in the hospitality sector over Easter, then with the CBD window display and hay bale trail remaining in place for the entire autumn season.”

Ms Saffin said the $15,000 will ensure that the festival can continue to showcase the Birthplace of Federation’s rich history and the shire’s outstanding scenic beauty, into the future.

Mrs Rhodes and Mrs Petrie said they were extremely grateful to the Premier and Ms Saffin for securing the funding to ensure this year’s festival can build on the success of past years.

“We were thrilled when Destination NSW recently chose Tenterfield Shire as one of the best places in the state to experience the vibrancy of autumn,” they said.

The 2025 Tenterfield Autumn Festival runs from Friday 18 April to Monday 21 April.
