Range of activities on offer for Lismore seniors during NSW Seniors Festival

Lismore MP Janelle Saffin says a $10,000 NSW Seniors Festival Grant will allow Lismore City Council to stage a number of events for seniors over the next fortnight.

MEMBER for Lismore Janelle Saffin is encouraging Lismore seniors to make the most of free events on offer during the NSW Seniors Festival starting this week.

“The NSW Government is delivering $10,000 in funding to support Lismore City Council with hosting exciting activities as part of this year’s NSW Seniors Festival. 

“The NSW Seniors Festival Grant Program backs initiatives which encourage people aged 60 or over to stay healthy, active, and connected to their community.

“The Lismore Council program for the two-week festival includes author talks, intergenerational story time, educational seminars, entertainment, dance, movement, social events  and fitness and nature based activities.

“Lismore Council was one of 35 organisations to receive a share of $200,000 under the NSW Seniors Festival Grant Program to host activities this year.

“The NSW Seniors Festival opens the door to a range of fun activities which help older people in our community feel more connected to friends and our local community.”
