$60,000 for Tweed environmental education project

Lismore MP Janelle Saffin has welcomed a $60,000 grant to Tweed Shire Council for its projects -- Cultivating Tomorrow: Empowering Tweed Shire Farmers through Regenerative Agribusiness Mastery.

THE Minns Labor Government is supporting Tweed Shire Council to deliver environmental education, thanks to a $60,000 grant.  

The project – Cultivating Tomorrow: Empowering Tweed Shire Farmers through Regenerative Agribusiness Mastery is funded by the latest round of the NSW Environmental Trust’s Environmental Education Grants Program.  

The grants support projects that develop skills and encourage and inspire involvement in environmental protection.   

The project will empower farmers with advanced agribusiness skills that shift them towards the adoption of regenerative agricultural practices. Tweed Shire Council will offer specialised short courses, workshops, coaching sessions and support farmer-led projects to overcome barriers to the implementation of sustainable farming methods.  

The Tweed Shire Council project is among seven projects funded with a total of $980,538.
