Young Women’s Leadership Seminar at NSW Parliament

Janelle Saffin MP is inviting Year 11 students and their teachers to participate in an upcoming Young Women's Leadership Seminar being run by the Parliament of NSW Education Team.

LISMORE MP Janelle Saffin is inviting Year 11 students and their teachers to participate in the Young Women’s Leadership Seminar, organised by the Parliament of NSW Education team, to discuss women in leadership and to celebrate International Women’s Day 2024 #inspireinclusion.

Ms Saffin said the Young Women’s Leadership Seminar provides an opportunity for students to hear from an inspiring keynote speaker – Associate Professor Lisa Williams, Associate Dean, Equity Diversity and Inclusion in the UNSW Faculty of Science.

Associate Professor Williams will share personal stories of her professional highlights, setbacks and experiences.

In addition, a panel of female Members of Parliament will discuss highlights, setbacks, and opportunities they have experienced in their careers. Ms Saffin said students will have the chance to ask questions during the question and answer component of the program.

When: Friday 8 March, 2024
Where: Legislative Assembly Chambers, Parliament of NSW and online
When: 9.15am – 12.30pm

Students are invited to attend either in person or online. For those participating online, a link to the livestream will be emailed before the event.

Ms Saffin is forwarding registration forms to secondary schools in the Lismore Electorate. Registrations close Monday 26 February, 2024.
