“As the local member I meet amazing women every day who are working hard to make their communities better.
“These range from women in leadership and professional roles to the quiet achievers in volunteer roles who get on with the job of making positive change.
“I notice that so often it is women at the heart of our community support organisations, who see what needs to be done and get on with the job.
“This work too often goes unrecognised.
“There is one month left to nominate local women and in four categories of Awards:
- Premiers NSW Woman of Excellence
- NSW Community Hero
- NSW Young Woman of the Year
- NSW Aboriginal Woman of the Year
“These awards are an opportunity to shine a light on these women and celebrate their achievements and the way they inspire us.
“Nominations are also open for the Ones to Watch showcase, to recognise girls between 7 and 15 years who show great potential and determination to shape the future.
“I encourage people to nominate our deserving local women and girls for these awards.”
