State Member for Lismore Janelle Saffin is encouraging local sporting clubs to apply for the 2022-2023 Local Sports Grants which are now open.

The grants range from $2000 minimum to a maximum of $10,000 with a total of $50,000 available across the Lismore Electorate.

Some examples of eligible projects include;

  • Come & try days
  • Coach or referee accreditation courses
  • New or updated websites
  • Equipment for training or playing sport
  • Create, upgrade or repair sports facilities
  • Subsidised travel for junior teams for first class coaching or competitions

There is a greater weighting for projects which clearly benefit women and girls, people with disability, First Nations peoples and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities.

Clubs will no longer be able to apply for grants for an Automated External Defibrillator for their club. A separate Local Sport Defibrillator Program will open later in the year.

Applications close at 1pm on Monday November 21.  Information on eligibility and the grant guidelines are available at www.sport.nsw.gov.au/grants/local-sport-grant-program
