Janelle Saffin MP’s strong, sustained advocacy has paid off with the NSW Government committing $7.5 million towards two townhouse developments on flood-free land owned by Lismore City Council.
Janelle Saffin MP again has written to NSW Treasurer Matt Kean asking him to allocate $7.5 million from the NSW Budget to enable 66 new townhouses to be built on flood-free land in Lismore. She says it’s time for the Government to act decisively on the Northern Rivers’ housing crisis, compounded by floods.
Lismore is seeing the fruits of a regional roundtable organised by Janelle Saffin MP last December with Landcom developing planning packages for two townhouse developments, potentially adding 66 new units to the city’s housing stock.
